1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy (“Policy”) explains how WRmachine, LLC, doing business as SureDispose (“SureDispose,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), uses cookies, pixels, tags, web beacons, software development kits, and similar tracking technologies (collectively, “Tracking Technologies”) when you visit or interact with the website located at suredispose.com and any associated subdomains, affiliated websites, tools, content, and services operated by SureDispose (collectively, the “Service”).

This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy (available at suredispose.com/privacy) and our Terms of Service (available at suredispose.com/terms). Terms defined in the Privacy Policy or Terms of Service have the same meaning when used in this Policy unless otherwise stated.

Where required by applicable law, we will obtain your affirmative consent before placing non-essential Tracking Technologies on your device. Your consent preferences are managed through the cookie preference center, accessible through the cookie consent banner and through the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of every page of the Service.

2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

2.1 Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site. Cookies enable a website to remember your actions and preferences (such as session state, language preferences, and other display settings) over a period of time, so you do not have to re-enter them whenever you return to the site or navigate between pages.

Cookies may be “first-party” cookies, set directly by SureDispose, or “third-party” cookies, set by a third-party service provider operating on or through the Service. Cookies may be “session” cookies, which are automatically deleted when you close your browser, or “persistent” cookies, which remain on your device until they expire or are manually deleted.

2.2 Pixels, Tags, and Web Beacons

A pixel (also called a tag, web beacon, tracking pixel, or clear GIF) is a small, often transparent image or code snippet embedded in a web page or email. When the page loads or the email is opened, the pixel sends information back to a server, including technical information such as your IP address, the time the page was viewed, the pages you visited, your browser type, and any actions you took on the page.

The Service uses pixels and tags supplied by advertising and analytics providers to measure the effectiveness of our content, measure conversions from advertising campaigns, build marketing audiences, and deliver or measure advertising on third-party platforms.

2.3 Local Storage and Session Storage

Local storage and session storage are browser-based storage mechanisms that function similarly to cookies but can store larger amounts of data. Session storage is cleared when the browser tab is closed; local storage persists until cleared manually or by the website. The Service may use local or session storage to maintain assessment progress and user interface preferences.

3. Cookie Categories

The Tracking Technologies used on the Service fall into the following categories. The specific technologies within each category, their purposes, providers, and retention periods are detailed in Section 4.

3.1 Strictly Necessary

These technologies are essential for the operation of the Service and cannot be disabled without impairing core functionality. They enable functions such as maintaining your session as you navigate through the Assessment Tool, preserving assessment progress across pages and visits, remembering your cookie preferences, and ensuring the security and integrity of the Service. Because these technologies are strictly necessary, they do not require your consent under applicable cookie consent laws.

3.2 Functional

These technologies enhance the functionality and personalization of the Service. They remember your preferences and choices (such as language, region, or display settings) to provide a more tailored experience. While not strictly necessary for the Service to function, they improve usability. These technologies require your consent where required by applicable law.

3.3 Analytical / Performance

These technologies collect information about how visitors use the Service, including which pages are visited most often, how visitors navigate between pages, time spent on pages, and whether visitors encounter error messages. The information collected is used to analyze performance and improve the Service. These technologies require your consent where required by applicable law.

3.4 Marketing / Advertising

These technologies are used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising, build marketing audiences, and deliver or measure advertising on third-party platforms (such as search engines and social networks). They enable practices such as conversion tracking, remarketing (showing ads to visitors who have previously visited the Service), and the building of custom or similar audiences on third-party advertising platforms.

Under applicable state privacy laws, the use of Marketing / Advertising Tracking Technologies constitutes “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (and, in some jurisdictions, may also constitute a “sale” of personal information). These technologies are not activated until you provide consent through our cookie consent mechanism, and may be disabled at any time through the cookie preference center or by transmitting a Global Privacy Control signal as described in Section 7.

4. Specific Tracking Technologies Used

The following tables describe the specific Tracking Technologies currently deployed on the Service, organized by category. We update these tables as technologies are added, modified, or removed.

4.1 Strictly Necessary Technologies

4.4 Marketing / Advertising Technologies

The Service uses advertising and conversion-tracking technologies supplied by third-party advertising platforms. These technologies collect information about your visit to the Service (including IP address, device identifiers, pages viewed, and actions taken) and transmit that information to the relevant advertising platform so that we can measure advertising effectiveness, attribute conversions to specific advertising campaigns, show advertisements to you on other websites and apps you visit (remarketing), and build marketing audiences (including “similar” or “custom” audiences).

Classification under state privacy laws. The operation of these technologies involves the disclosure of personal information to third-party advertising providers for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes, which constitutes “sharing” under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (“CCPA/CPRA”), and comparable concepts under other state privacy laws. These disclosures may also constitute a “sale” of personal information under state laws with a broad definition of “sale.” You have the right to opt out of these activities as described in Section 7.

5. Legal Basis, Consent, and California-Specific Requirements

5.1 Strictly Necessary Technologies

Strictly necessary technologies (Section 4.1) are deployed without separate consent because they are essential to the functionality of the Service. The legal basis for these technologies is the legitimate operation of the Service you have requested.

5.2 Non-Essential Technologies

Where required by applicable law, we will obtain your consent before placing or activating non-essential Tracking Technologies (functional, analytical, and marketing technologies described in Sections 4.2 through 4.4) on your device. Non-essential technologies are not activated until you interact with our cookie consent mechanism.

When you first visit the Service, you will be presented with a cookie consent banner that describes the categories of non-essential Tracking Technologies used and provides you with the ability to accept or decline each category. The banner presents “Accept All” and “Reject All” options with equal prominence (same button size, styling, and number of clicks), and a “Manage Preferences” option that opens a granular preference center with a toggle for each category.

Your consent preferences are stored in a first-party cookie so that the banner is not displayed on each subsequent visit. You may change your consent preferences at any time through the cookie preference center, accessible via the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of every page of the Service. Changes to your preferences take effect immediately for future page loads.

5.4 California Visitors — Affirmative Opt-In for Marketing Technologies

For visitors we identify as likely located in California (based on IP address geolocation), Marketing / Advertising Tracking Technologies described in Section 4.4 will not be activated until you have affirmatively opted in through the cookie consent mechanism. Marketing technologies remain disabled by default until you click “Accept All” or enable the Marketing category within the preference center.

If you are a California resident and you transmit a Global Privacy Control signal (see Section 7.3), we will treat that signal as a valid and continuing opt-out of the sale and sharing of your personal information, and Marketing / Advertising Tracking Technologies will not be activated during that browser session regardless of any prior consent.

5.5 Maryland Visitors — Data Minimization

The Maryland Online Data Privacy Act (“MODPA”) imposes a strict data minimization standard requiring that data collection be reasonably necessary and proportionate to providing the specific service requested by the consumer. For visitors we identify as likely located in Maryland, we limit Tracking Technologies to those reasonably necessary to provide the Service.

6. Third-Party Cookies and Data Sharing

Certain Tracking Technologies on the Service are provided by third parties. When a third-party technology collects information through the Service, that information may be transmitted to and processed by the third-party provider in accordance with the provider’s own privacy policy and data practices. SureDispose does not control third-party providers’ data practices.

The categories of third-party providers whose Tracking Technologies are currently deployed on the Service include:

Sale and Sharing of Personal Information. Under CCPA/CPRA and other state privacy laws, the use of third-party Tracking Technologies that disclose personal information to third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising constitutes “sharing” and, under some state laws, may constitute a “sale” of personal information. To the extent this activity constitutes a sale or sharing of personal information under applicable law, you have the right to opt out as described in Section 7.

7. Your Choices and Opt-Out Rights

You may manage your cookie preferences at any time through the cookie preference center, accessible via the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of every page of the Service. From the preference center, you can review the categories of non-essential Tracking Technologies in use, enable or disable specific categories, and withdraw consent you have previously provided. Changes to your preferences take effect immediately for future page loads.

Withdrawing consent is as easy as providing consent. The preference center uses the same interface format for opting in and opting out, with no additional steps, friction, or consequences imposed for exercising the right to opt out.

7.2 Browser-Level Controls

Most web browsers allow you to manage cookies through browser settings. You can typically configure your browser to block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, delete existing cookies, or receive a notification before a cookie is placed. Please be aware that blocking or deleting cookies may affect the functionality of the Service, including your ability to use the Assessment Tool.

7.3 Global Privacy Control (GPC)

SureDispose honors Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals in all U.S. jurisdictions where applicable law requires recognition of universal opt-out mechanisms, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, and Texas. SureDispose also honors GPC signals for all other U.S. visitors as a matter of policy.

When your browser transmits a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information. When a GPC signal is detected, Marketing / Advertising Tracking Technologies (described in Section 4.4) will not be activated for that browser session, and data collected through any previously activated Marketing / Advertising Tracking Technology will not be transmitted to third-party advertising platforms.

7.4 Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

You may opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information by:

  • Visiting our “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” page at suredispose.com/do-not-sell
  • Clicking the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer of every page of the Service
  • Transmitting a Global Privacy Control signal through your browser
  • Emailing [email protected] with the subject line “Opt Out of Sale”

7.5 Platform-Specific Opt-Outs

You may also opt out of certain Tracking Technologies directly with the applicable third-party provider:

7.6 Do Not Track

Some browsers transmit a Do Not Track (“DNT”) signal. There is no industry consensus on the meaning of DNT signals, and the Service does not currently respond to DNT signals. However, SureDispose honors Global Privacy Control signals as described in Section 7.3.

8. Data Retention

Data collected through Tracking Technologies is retained in accordance with the retention periods specified in the tables in Section 4 and the retention criteria described in Section 8 of our Privacy Policy.

  • Session cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser.
  • Persistent first-party cookies expire according to the retention periods specified in Section 4.
  • Data collected by third-party technologies is retained by the respective third-party provider in accordance with that provider’s retention policies.

9. State Privacy Law Considerations

Your rights regarding the personal information collected through Tracking Technologies are governed by the state privacy laws applicable to your state of residence, as described in Section 9 of our Privacy Policy. These rights may include:

  • The right to know what personal information has been collected through Tracking Technologies
  • The right to delete personal information collected through Tracking Technologies
  • The right to correct inaccurate personal information collected through Tracking Technologies
  • The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information collected through Tracking Technologies
  • The right to opt out of targeted advertising and cross-context behavioral advertising facilitated by Tracking Technologies
  • The right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights

10. Children

The Service is designed for business professionals and is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly use Tracking Technologies to collect personal information from individuals under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe Tracking Technologies on the Service have collected information from your child, please contact us at [email protected].

11. Changes to This Policy

SureDispose may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Tracking Technologies we use, changes in applicable law, or other operational changes.

Non-Material Changes. We may make non-material changes (such as updating cookie names, adjusting retention periods, or correcting descriptions) at any time by posting the updated Policy on the Service and updating the “Last Updated” date.

Material Changes. If we make material changes to this Policy — including the addition of new categories of Tracking Technologies or changes affecting your opt-out rights — we will re-display the cookie consent banner to obtain renewed consent where required by applicable law.
